The 7venrings Media Manifesto
Wantrepreneurs are the people who are always five minutes from starting their company. They say all the right things, but when it comes down to putting in the work to make it happen, there is always an excuse to why it hasn’t happened yet. Maybe it’s due to the lack of time in a day, too much going on around them, or maybe they’ve just become complacent.”
Those were words that I wrote in a blog after a conversation that I had with Joe Procopio wrote back in October of 2013. I was promoting “The Time is Now” Entrepreneurship Festival, a startup conference for millennials that I founded and directed.
The two years that I spent planning those conferences was easily the most fulfilling periods of my life. Never in my life had I spent so much blood, sweat, and tears on something that didn’t feel like work.
Helping people to launch and grow their own company is where my passions and strengths collide. I’ve been employed by excellent companies over the years, but I always knew that starting a branding and marketing agency was always in the cards for me.
There are a few reasons why I knew that, but there are two that stand above them all:
Everything about digital marketing is insanely boring
Everything looks the same; everything sounds the same. We have a whole demographic of people who grew up with BuzzFeed and their iPhone or Android, and it’s only now where we’re beginning to use more current tactics to reach them.
There is one thing that we know: Storytelling is going to be the most effective way to increase reach with new customers and grow your business.
There is a significant opportunity for companies small businesses in any industry to connect directly with your customer. If you don’t believe that storytelling is the future, then look no further than Apple and Samsung and the updates they’ve made to their devices.
The cameras and the capabilities are improving consumers way to engage and interact with products and services.
We are in uncharted waters right now, and I’m passionate about introducing small businesses to new media
mediums like podcasts, Instagram, and content marketing. The possibility to offer the incredible opportunities to help you differentiate from your competition is my mission.
Personalization is the game
I kept hearing from people how frustrated they are about rising above the noise of a crowded marketplace.
One of the biggest misconceptions in marketing is that if you build it, they will come. It’s not enough to have a beautiful website or having a Facebook page; it’s about understanding the audience and delivering content that adds value to them.
I recognize that there are a ton of Internet Marketing companies that promise that they’ll help them to strengthen your online presence, but I felt there weren’t enough people who look deeper on what that means for businesses AND the customers they serve.
I want to help our clients focuses on developing and producing Human-centric content for real people with real problems.
Very few people know why they do what they do. We’ve all asked ourselves at one point or another, “Why do I do what I do on a daily basis?” For better or for worse, this question has been at the center of the moral dilemma between continuing down the path you are currently on or forging a new one.
My “why” doesn’t revolve around making more money. I imagine there are probably simpler ways to get there besides starting a company. What get me out of bed in the morning, or keeps the midnight oil burning is the chance to help Small Business owners, Realtors, and Property Management Managers thrive.
The origins of 7venrings Media almost feels prophetic. I feel the same way about launching this company as I did when I started “The Time is Now”, Shift Here.
The first day of working full-time on this company, I literally felt like I was jumped off a plane 14,000 feet up in the air. The truth is that you’re never totally ready. 7venrings Media has been living in the depths of my being for years, and I am thankful to all the clients and people made this post possible.
